pastor ian j. hamilton

---

All Saints Episcopal Church of the North Shore is delighted to welcome Ian Hamilton as its new pastor, serving in a half‑time call shared with St. Paul Lutheran Church in Gloucester.

This partnership is made possible through the full‑communion agreement between the Episcopal Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), which recognizes each other’s sacraments, shares clergy, and unites our traditions in mutual mission. The agreement fully empowers Pastor Hamilton to preside at Episcopal sacraments, preach, teach, and offer pastoral care.

Together, our congregations are embracing creative and flexible approaches to ministry and community engagement—reflecting a growing movement among churches seeking to serve faithfully and imaginatively in a changing world.

An Ohio native, Pastor Ian is a warm, grounded, and steady‑eyed young pastor who brings clarity, joyful energy, and a deep commitment to collaborative ministry. He previously served as Vicar at United Lutheran Church in Ohio after earning his Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Religious Studies from Ashland University.

Pastor Ian’s ministry passions include engaging young adults, offering compassionate pastoral care, and serving the wider community in open‑hearted and deeply welcoming ways—meeting people where they are, listening well, and helping create spaces where faith feels accessible, authentic, and connected to everyday life.

His first Sunday at All Saints will be October 11.
